So...I'm trying something new here.  Bear with me.  This is gold, people.  Really.

I was in the shower (cliched, I know) and came up with an idea that I think will challenge me beyond measure, open up my writing to a whole new world of characters and experiences. And fingers crossed, you'll be entertained and left asking yourselves, "How the hell did he do that?"

I have always wanted to write autobiographies, but I don't have the patience for the research required for non-fiction.  So I'm creating my own.  [Drum roll, please...]  I've decided that for every novel I write, it will have its own Companion Autobiography. The Rest Is Still Unwritten is the very first in that vein...and its Companion Novel will be The Jewel Box, the highly anticipated follow-up to Chief of Staff.

Who is the subject of the Companion Autobiography?  How are they related to a character or characters in the Companion Novel?  Will it be a Comedy?  Maybe a Tragedy?  Will you be inspired or mad at me and whomever I write?  I have no idea. But what I do know is that we'll be making this journey together.
